“Photography is a love affair with life.” – Burk Uzzle

Ariana Marisol is a multi-talented New Orleans based artist who explores the human experience through visual art. Born with an innate passion for artistic expression and an ever-growing curiosity and love for the complexities of life, Ariana’s goal is to always dive deep in their art practice.

Exclusively shooting with film, Ariana uses their lens to not only capture the beautiful moments of life, but also to tell a story. This deliberate choice allows them to infuse their work with a sense of authenticity and nostalgia, capturing moments that feel both intimate and candid.

Ariana's preferred style of documentary photography allows them to immerse themself in the lives of their subjects, unveiling their stories with compassion.

As a stripper, Ariana specifically focuses on the lives of their coworkers and other sex workers to tell a complex and well-rounded story about people who are often seen as one dimensional.

Their photographs reflect a deep reverence for sex workers, inside and outside of work, inviting viewers to question societal norms and stigmas and embrace the complexities of what it means to be human, what it means to love and be cared for, what it means to be seen, and what it means to survive under capitalism in an industry that is often deeply looked down upon and misunderstood.

The goal of their work is to spark meaningful conversations about stigmatized professions and how stigma affects sex workers in their day to day lives.
